Getting organised for "Back to School"

So I am embarking on a new chapter in my life in September...at the ripe "old" age of 34 I am off to University!  It's been a long time coming but I feel ready to embrace this level of academia having just completed a 2 year Access to Higher Education course which I loved.  So in preparation and whilst I wait for the Freshers' Week my thoughts have turned to organising myself.  I used to love the "back to school" season when I was younger and still do.  There's something cathartic about sweeping the decks and getting ready for a new chapter.  Nothing makes me happier than buying new stationery and pens.  I love Paperchase and when I was younger I adored Partners and all the pens you could test out!  I know you can still do that in WHSmiths which I may or may not indulge in every now and then...:)

I will be studying English Literature and am not sure at this stage how much organisation I will need to keep abreast with in terms of lectures and seminars.  With this in mind I've been toying with the idea of buying a personal organiser.  I've seen the Palgrave planner reviewed but I am leaning towards a Filoxfax or organiser from Paperchase.  Something along the lines of these....

This pink one is really cute without being overly girly or too young.  It's from Paperchase and in their current range.
This planner is from Filofax and I really like the muted colours and birdcage design which is on-trend.

I've still got a few weeks to decide which one to get and I'm sure I'll see others I like, making the decision much harder.  Then of courses there's files, pens and paper!  Although with paper I have to write on yellow due to having Meares Irlen syndrome so will probably buy that in the uni shop.

Let me know what you think on the planners and any other useful stationery advice!

Welcome one and all!

Hello!

Welcome to my new blog.  I'm Kat, a part time worker, full time mum and abut to be full time university student in September!  I will be studying English Literature whilst juggling work and my child and I can't wait!

Over time I hope this blog will become a record of my successful (or not) attempts to juggle everything whilst still being able to do the things I love!  As well as books I love stationery and cute kitsch things.  I will review various purchases on here too as I have a list ready for uni!

I am also happy to review items here so please don't hesitate to contact me!

Until next time.....
